Casper College is a premier public comprehensive two-year community college that provides academic transfer, vocational and continuing and basic skills education. Approximately 4,700 students are enrolled in138 associate degree programs and 37 one-year certificate programs. The University of Wyoming/Casper College Center offers 16 bachelor degree programs and 13 master's degree programs on the campus. Additionally, nine other institutions offer bachelors, masters or PH.D degree programs on campus. The campus's Center for Training and Development provides customized training and seminars for area businesses. Casper College is home to the state's only program of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, which provides learning opportunities designed for those 50 and older. Many individuals, through their company or on their own, take classes on flexible schedules via the college's Flex Lab.
A beautiful physical environment surrounds the 28 campus buildings. The Goodstein Foundation Library, the Goodstein Visual Arts Center, the Gertrude Krampert Theatre, and the college's two museums are popular attractions. The Tate Geological Museum has earned national attention for its efforts to keep Wyoming fossils here at home.
The college serves as a cultural gathering point for the community. The jazz, literary and humanities festivals are held each year, and the theatre department presents five major shows each year. Art shows and recitals take place throughout the year.
The Casper College Thunderbirds compete in varsity basketball, volleyball, and rodeo and have a combined 22 regional championships to their credit. The college also has claimed national championships in rodeo, forensics, and livestock judging.
